Pearl’s Korean BBQ Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I vaguely remember smiling employees and good food. The food is still good as long as you don't go in the last hour of operations, but the smiles and customer service seem to be ancient history - so are most of the side options if you go after 8:20pm...

Definitely love the food but it's a little painful on the ears when you have 3 cashiers talking with the only other customer who is Filipino speaking their language and the volume is loud! I wish I could record this, it's painful!!! Will definitely think twice about coming back and dining in!

Disappointing because it doesn't seem to live up to others consistent and tasty fast Korean foods in other areas. My sides/bachan does not seem to last even for the next day. It always seems to spoil! Not a good sign for me especially after giving them a chance a few other times! Just could be better!

I really like this place! Usually I go to Tasty BBQ in Waipahu to get my Korean food fix but I like it here better. I got a mandoo meat jun mix and was ono!!! They gave me sooo much food so yup I dig their portion size! Overall can't go wrong here!

We moved to Ewa so I wanted to try the 2 korean restaurants here. We tried this place first. I'm a big fan of Tasty's in Waipahu, but I wanted to just see what was out there. I got the kalbi/meat jun plate like I always get. I wasn't blown away. The kalbi had good flavor, but the meat jun was kind of oily. I got all veggies so I could have an extra veggie. I got 2x cucumber, potato, kim chee, and choy sum. I was disappointed with the cucumber and kim chee. The rest was ok. I also got the honeydew boba drink. The slushy part was really good, but the tapioca pearls were kind of gross. Like they cooked them too long or something. All in all, it was ok. But I think if I had a craving, I would just rather take the drive to Waipahu's Tastys (we tried Elims, it was even worse).

Best garlic chicken plate by far! I'm always coming here don't matter what time of day. When I'm feeling korean bbq this is where I'm at for sure!

Food was tasty and their regular plate combos can easily be for two ppl. But a lil pricy compared to other Pearl places. Had the shrimp and meat jun plate...sorry didnt get to add a pic maybe next time around.

It is so convenient that there was a Pearl's Korean BBQ in Ewa Beach. My family and I went there for dinner and as soon as we walked in, they greeted us right away. We had a good welcome, but along the way, they weren't as friendly after all. I understand that they were getting very busy, and you could tell in their faces that they were getting irritated and frustrated. With me, customer service is always a first. You shouldn't be rude to your customers no matter how frustrated you are. I thought the place would be so friendly because of the way they greeted us, but I guess not. So, here is how it started... My family is a party of 8, and with each plate, they give just a pair of utensils (fork, & knife). We ordered 5 plates, with only 5 forks. So I went up to ask for 3 more and the lady looked at me like I wanted to take it home. She looked at me like "I'm not supposed to give you more forks" kind of look. Why would I wanna take home forks?! We have silverware back at home. Did they expect us to use our hands? I also ordered a bubble tea. A honeydew bubble tea to be exact. There was no taste at all. I don't know if they're missing a spoonful more of that powder they use, but it had no taste at all. Next, I had a Kal-bi plate. Here's where I go mad. My kalbi was burnt, every piece I had. The cooks were probably rushing because they had a lot of orders to take but they need to cook our food with love so we could come back. But that didnt happen. I wanted to complain, but they were so busy and I didn't want to deal with their snobby employees. And on top of that, my food wasnt so chewy. It was hard for me to eat and cut. I've been to other places, and my kalbi was perfect. My food here was hard, rushed and burned. Wasted my $12 and my appetite for dinner. Space... It's were tight in there, there was 2 booths which could fit 4-5 people, 3 half tables/booths and just one table of just 2 people. Very tight in there. I don't care about the space, but just wanted to tell you guys just in case you guys dine in. OVERALL... I am never going back there. I've ate at better places than here, and its the same company. And I know they just opened, but professionally wise, they might want to serve the customers well. CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE #1 AND PEARLS KOREAN BBQ DIDNT MEET MY EXPECTATIONS. FRIENDLY IN THE BEGINNING AND DIES OUT VERY QUICKLY. THAT IS A NO-NO.

Could use more seating, but the meatjun is delicious!! Not much Korean restaurants can get their meatjun on point but they are here!!

  • Ram K.

BBQ beef is one of the best for Korean take out and their bubble drinks are good too! Service is good. Even with three or four orders ahead of me I still got mine pretty fast.

  • Chris H.

Love this place. You get so much food for the money and it is always good and quickly prepared. Only done take out so I can't speak to table service. Also I've only tried a few things so I'm not sure about the whole menu. The bbq chicken and spicy bbq chicken are great and you get 4 sides with each meal. I usually have food for 2-3 days.

Korean? Pearl's Korean BBQ had some pretty tasty food. I had the meat jun/mandoo combo plate. Pearl's Korean BBQ's Yay! I'm a fan : )

  • Kristin Joy B.

The food here is always delicious. I've always been satisfied with my choices, spicy BBQ pork and Kalbi. And not to mention the sides! Always hits the spot. I like to ask for no rice and they'll give me an extra choice of sides to add on..

My first experience with Pearl was a few years back. I had eaten at their Pearlridge Mall location, and was not impressed. The prices were high, and the portions so small. So my dear mom was crazing for some Korean food and found Pearls to be our easiest and most convenient option. Now I heard people complained that when this Ewa location opened, the portions were small, but my dad decided to give them a try and has been satisfied since. We order around 8:00pm Sunday evening. The place was empty, excluding the one couple eating in the corner. My mother order a veggie plate (so boring) and I ordered a spicy chicken/spicy pork combo. It wasn't on the menu, but they went with it. Service was "dull", very monotone... Wouldn't kill them to smile. The impression the employees give is like they're being punished to work. Found the price was reasonable for what you receive. Since it was takeout, I didn't see my food until we got home, and I was pleased. Taste? It wasn't "amazing", but it hits the spot. Their side dishes were somewhat lacking, nothing special. I would finish to say that I would go back.

Food was great but service could be better. Too much talking and laughing WHILE taking my order. Other than that, the other employee (maybe manager) was nice. The other didn't say a word and kept laughing while speaking Filipino.

Agree with Paul M, zero taste on the veggies/sides. Way better at Elims, might come back when they learn to use seasonings. ..

The food tastes great, however, after eating here I had diarrhea. I have a pretty strong stomach and can handle almost anything, but eating here gave me the runs. I gave them a benefit of the doubt so I ate here a second time the week after the first and sure enough I had the runs once again right after I ate their food. Never going back again because of this. In addition, the employees need to be taught at least to smile. Poor customer service.

Awesome portions at a great price. I had the BBQ beef plate for lunch with medium drink $14. I am glad pearls made it to EWA beach. Service is fast and friendly with a smile!

Thought I would try some Korean take out, I'm a picky eater when it comes to Korean food so thought I would play it safe and order chicken katsu instead of kal bi, big mistake , it was cooked earlier then cut into pieces and refried again. It was dried out pieces of cardboard. I will say that all the side dishes were fresh and staff very friendly.

Seriously the worse customer service ever! We dined in with our 3 young children and no rocket scientist will say that kids that age are messy and require more than 2 skinny napkins. On 3 or 4 times we went up to ask for more napkins and each time they gave only 2 cheap napkins. Finally we said we need more because we have 3 kids.....she laughed and gave me 3. Are you kidding me?!? WTF! Well that's okay no wonder they have bad reviews. Too much! SMH. Those ladies behind the counter are def a bunch of rude b*****s! Oh the food.....crappy lol!

The selection at Pearl's is very good. I love getting their BBQ Chicken with Kalbi and I always order a side of their mandoo. The quality of the meats is good and the banchan choices are decent. I love their long rice and shoyu potato banchan. I skip the kimchi because as in most Korean BBQ fast food places, the kimchi is not spicy. The staff is very friendly and engaging. One time they forgot to include the 4 pieces of mandoo with my combo plate. I called from home and explained the situation and the lady was very apologetic. When I returned to pick up my mandoo, they were nice enough to give me a full order of mandoo (about 8 pieces) for the inconvenience of having to come back. I've been there several times and customer service has always been better than average.

Ordered the pearls special everything was great except the kalbi!!! Kalbi looked cooked until you cut it only to discover it was raw!!! I guess that's why I kept hearing people order their kalbi well done!!!

Food, service ok. Place looks clean but what prompted me to write a review is that we had it for dinner last night and around midnight, he got the runs. He's feeling better now. I ate leftovers for dinner tonight and in 4 hours, i got the runs, too. Sorry for TMI

One of the best Korean BBQ places I've been to! They are decently priced and give you a lot of food for your money. My favorite is the BBQ chicken and meat jun combo plate. The workers are friendly and the restaurant is clean. They take your order and get you your food fairly quick. This place can get very busy, so I'd suggest you place a phone order before you go, just to be safe.

Ate the meat jun BBQ chicken mixed plate and was really disappointed with the meat jun but the BBQ was okay its a bit on the expensive side also had the lychee bubble drink that was good. I'd rather drive down a bit and go to Elims BBQ

Having eaten hundreds and hundreds of Korean meals through the years, I would have to say that Pearl Korean BBQ in Ewa is not very good. For what I paid for our food, we could've easily gotten better food at a real Korean restaurant. The food came out too fast for it to have been cooked to order. There is no way you can barbeque kal bi and chicken in 5 min. Needless to say I will not be eating there again.

    (2)
  • Bryson M.

Food is pretty good. I like the garlic chicken. Lots of food, more than I can eat in a sitting. If you order inside it takes a while, tried phone order and it was super quick. 10 min.

  • Shawna B.

One thing that completely kills my experience is when I walk into a restaurant and the workers don't greet you because they are having their own conversation that is probably not work related. Not only did I stand there waiting while they had their conversation, they were speaking in Filipino. I am Filipino myself & can understand that it's much easier to speak in your language, but it is unprofessional if it's not relative you serving customer service. But anyway, everything else but the service is good. The food's great, prices are fair, customer service just needs a little work.

Love this place I eat here often and the quality is great and the portions are huge. This place is on my favorites list.

    (5)

The flavor on the vegetables like the kimchee, cabbage, sprouts and broccoli is non existent. Elims veggies have a better taste.

I'm really happy that Pearl's has made its way to the west side. Now I can get some pretty decent korean bbq without having to drive more than 3 miles from my house!(Which is good for my taste buds but bad for my waistline) The location is in a new building, so the interior is clean and bright. The menu is standard Pearl's, but the location means they will give the next door Panda Express a run for their money. The staff is curt but friendly due to their popularity, and the cooks are already good at cooking the menu items. Usually it takes a new restaurant a few weeks to work out the kinks, but Pearl's has got it right. Come hungry because Pearl's gives good sized portions. Plus you have to try the Bi Bim Bap becaus it's kind of a mix of everything with an egg on top!

I have never been disappointed there, so much food in your order and it tastes great.

NEVER AGAIN. My younger cousins wanted bubble drinks, so we went ahead and ordered 3 taro, 1 honeydew, and 1 strawberry. Our drinks had NO TASTE AT ALL. Secondly, the boba tasted weird. I don't know how to describe it, but I've had enough bubble drinks to know how it should taste like. Thirdly, each of us woke up with a stomach ache with vomiting and diarrhea (I'm sorry for the tmi, but this really pissed me off). My son could not sleep because he kept vomiting! My advice: if you're craving a bubble drink, steer clear from this Pearls location!! PS: My boyfriend called to make a complaint. When he asked to talk to the manager, they hung up on him. Seriously. Worst place ever.

My fiancé and I looooove Pearl's Korean BBQ! It is 5 minutes from our apartment and is our go to for takeout food. When we are hungry and in a rush we always call in our order 10 minutes out. We always get the BBQ chicken and it is unbelievable!! We always order one plate (you get 2 sides of rice and 4 veggie sides) for the two of us and he is by no means a dainty eater! There is usually food left over after both of us are stuffed!! I have people visit and it is one of the first places I take them. Good cheap eats!!

  • Bob D.

We ordered No. 2 take out which fed our family of 8. Food was well prepared and not too spicy. We'd go back

  • Mae K.

Cleanliness was on point! Ample parking and about 3 or 4 tables. Not really a dine-in spot if busy! Gr8 portion size. I have 3 meals here, or one Big-Boi meal! Food tastes as good as it looks!!

  • Bonita B.

Food was good, service ok expect all the employees were speaking in their native language the whole time we were there.

They have Bubble Tea! YUM! The food is great. Fast service. I would reccommend you go here.

Excellent food and they have bubble tea. Will definitely be going here very often :) Service was very fast too.

  • Christa B.

Place is clean, food is good, and employees are friendly. You get a ton of food for your money. The ladies pile on the sides! The garlic chicken is excellent! It's sweet, crispy, and juicy. You might have to wait a little while for it, but it's worth the wait because it comes out hot and moist. The shoyu potatoes are really tasty too. They kind of remind me of an Asian sweet potato. I love that you get so many options for sides and that you can add man do for just a buck fifty nine. They ran out of tapioca balls the last time we were there. That's probably because they put soooo many in your drink! The mac salad is drenched in mayo, a little too much mayo. The Teri beef is flavorful too. I prefer coming here instead of Panda Express which is right next door.

  • Che L.

If you like big portions on meat and side dishes, this is the place. Kalbi and chicken very tasty good quality. Get your money worth, plenty of parking and friendly staffs. I'll be regular now! Also I like the cleanliness of the dinning area and fountain drinks are refillable self help!

  • Valerie R.

It's new, it's clean, and the food is pretty much the same as what you'd find at Pearl's Korean BBQ joints all over the island. I'm glad we have one in Ewa because it's consistent and delicious. I did have to wait over ten minutes to get my food though, and they forgot my bubble tea, so that made me a little sad. I kept hopping up, thinking it was my turn, but alas. Maybe it's just growing pains as everyone gets used to the new store? Hope so!

  • Jelly B.

The good thing bout this place is that they have bubble tea and accept credit cards. But other then that there kalbi ain't all that great. I like Elim's better!!!

    (2)
  • Anne A.

I give this location a two star rating because their food is good I really love their bubble tea. However, the customer service is horrible, the employees rarely ever greet, they never smile, and they don't give you their full attention.

    (2)
  • Isa R.

New takeout spot! Ewa Beach has such a limited dining selection. I used to go to Elim's, but this location is slightly closer to my house and they take card!! I've had the Kalbi x chicken combo and the teriyaki pork chop x chicken katsu combo and they were both great! Nothing much different that I notice from Elim's or Tasty's. Love the selection of sides--especially the potato salad. The place was pretty busy when I went, so call in your order if you're taking out. :)

  • Cherie A.

I was very excited to see a Korean BBQ establishment so close to my house. However, this place is HORRIBLE! The first time we ate here the staff was rude, the ladies behind the counter were too busy talking on the phone with their friend to take my order or even acknowledging my presence, and they charged my debit card twice. Our first visit to this establishment was shortly after they opened so my husband and I figured we'd give this place a second chance. The second time we came here we received the same bad service and this time we both got major heart burn after eating the food. Therefore, unfortunately we don't have any plans to return.

キムチの中にゴキブリが入っていた。もう絶対に行かない。 There is a cockroach inside Kimuchi. I will never come back there again.

The Pearl's location in Ewa is now open with all the trimmings you expect. 16 main menu items starring of course BBQ but as always I had to go with my fav the chicken katsu. Pearl's is everything you expect from a new restaurant: clean, friendly, and fresh. In particular, it is nice to be greeted as soon as you walk in. Panda next door definitely has a challenge!

  • V V.

Had take out for dinner tonite and I rate it 10 plus negative even more but don't want to eat you to bad but it's Kalbi was burnt to the T cucumber Kim Chee had no taste at ALL bean sprouts was just balanced in water NO taste at all, same as for the seaweed rice was like portage mush!! I make better Korean good but had no time to cook so I had to settle for take out VERY BAD choice never again yo this place nasty

    (1)
  • Jackie S.

This is (so far) the best Korean take out in Ewa beach. The only con is that the wait is pretty long, but definitely worth it because they give outrageously huge portions and food is very tasty.

    (4)
  • Iris C.

My favorite pearls location . Staff is always super friendly and attentive. Came in for lunch and there were a few customers but nothing too crazy. Ordered a BBQ chicken plate to go. When I got home and opened my plate I was quite surprise to see how juicy my chicken was! My veggies were seasoned well too. They've been consistent every time I come here. Only bubble tea spot in ewa, my favorite is the Milk tea. Never fails me, the boba are never over cooked and the texture was perfect.
